I've found my furever family!

Pippa

We're happy to tell you that Pippa has a new furever home.

This little house hippo is quickly coming out of her shell in foster.  She is still a bit skittish about being picked up but in the short time she's been here has already decided that laying next to any human is a very good thing.  At her vet visit 1/2/24, the vet did not find any medical reason for her limited vision.  Eyes appear very healthy and react normally.  She can see shadows and doesn't run into things but has no depth perception and is afraid of steps or jumping on furniture.  She sleeps quietly next to her human all night with very little noise.

She was very good with her bath and toenail trim.  She is a very slow eater and prefers to savor her meals from her Fluff Trough.  She does not bite treats but prefers to lick everything until it ends up in her mouth.  We are working on consistency for potty training as I don't think she's had any training at all.

With her vision issues she is a little unsure about walking on a leash but is slowly gaining confidence.  Her paw pads do appear a little sore so we are treating those.

She is excellent for car rides and would greatly benefit from another pet in the home who she can interact with.  She has started initiating playtime with our pugs (and it's adorable!).  She really is a dear little thing and will make the right family an excellent companion.
