Meet Teddy

Teddy is a smart, energetic pug who bonds very deeply with his people. Once he trusts you, he is incredibly loyal and loves being close to his person, happily following you from room to room and soaking up attention.

Teddy is very treat-motivated and enjoys learning, which gives him a great foundation for continued training. He’s curious, active, and loves exploring his environment. His foster says he’s a bit of a “doggy parkour” fan and enjoys hopping onto chairs, furniture, or outdoor objects to check things out. Teddy also does well with other dogs and has even attended doggy daycare.

Because Teddy can be fearful with new people, he may react defensively and can bite if he feels threatened. For this reason, he needs a patient, experienced adopter who understands shy or reactive dogs and is willing to allow Teddy the time and space he needs to build trust. Slow introductions and positive reinforcement go a long way with him.

Once Teddy feels safe, his sweet personality really shines. He loves butt scratches, will eventually roll over for tummy rubs, and even enjoys a relaxing bath. His foster mom says one of his cutest quirks is when his little lip gets stuck on his teeth.

Teddy’s Ideal Home

• Adult home or older, dog-savvy teens

• Experienced dog owner comfortable working with fearful dogs

• Someone patient who will let Teddy build trust at his own pace

• A home committed to continued training and structure

Teddy may take a little extra time and understanding, but for the right person he will be an incredibly devoted companion!
