Margarita is very quiet and can be shy at first until she gets to know you. She would be perfect for someone who works from home, wants to take their dog everywhere with them, as an emotional support animal, or for a senior looking for an easy, small, lightweight pet. The paperwork from the shelter estimated me being a senior, but I appear to be much younger, so we are going to ask the vet to reevaluate my age. She is a bit of a Houdini and can escape harnesses and does not do well on the leash. She would thrive in a home with a fenced yard for her to romp and play. She does do her nervous snips typical of chihuahua's but LOVES attention and to be next to her forever person. Kids definitely make her nervous and she likes to protect what is hers, toys, food and her person. So, although a bit diva she does get along with other pups with slow introduction and plenty of monitored time to connect. She does take a little more time to acclimate to a new environment but once she does, she is very endearing and sweet. If anyone has a special heart for the truly displaced, please consider giving Margarita a chance to learn to be the dog she was always meant to be.
