Woof! Hi there, I'm Lacey! Yep, you heard that right—I'm a fun, playful Chug. That's part pug, part chihuahua! I am actually very quiet for being part chihuahua; I do enjoy guarding the perimeter of the yard but I love all people, strangers and kids!
Sometimes, I get a bit of the "chihuahua shakes" in new places. Like, when my foster mom zips me up in her coat to go to the kid’s bus stop, I might shiver a bit. But it’s totally worth it because I get all the pets from the kids! They can pick me up, touch my ears and paws and rub my belly anytime!
Guess what? I loooove playing with goats! Yep, met a few recently and had a blast! I’m also cool with other dogs—big, small, and even puppies! My current play buddy is a big pittie mix, 65 pounds of fun. I might only be 11 pounds, but don’t let my size fool you—I can play hard! I would probably be happy as the center of your attention but would also be ok with living with other dogs. I must be the top female though, I get a little bossy with my older foster sister and want to hoard all her toys. I recently met some kitties in my foster house. They are kind of strange creatures, but since they aren't scared of me I'm trying to be friendly.
I’m learning some manners too, like waiting my turn when my foster bro has a treat. Sometimes I forget, but a quick "hey!" and I get it. I sleep quietly in my kennel at night, but I would much prefer to spoon under the blankets with you! I start to get pretty sleepy around 8pm and wind down on your lap if there's room. I'm happy to be a couch potato as long as we're together, and I'm ready for action at a moment's notice!
I’ve only had a few potty accidents, as in I understand going outside to potty but sometimes need you to escort me with some encouragement. But hey, if I’m left unsupervised for too long, I might have a little oops. If you’re going to be away, just kennel me, and problem solved! I don’t mind my kennel one bit. I don't mind the rain like most pugs. I'd happily go for a walk even if it's rainy, and once I'm out I rather enjoy exploring the yard and sometimes catch the zoomies.
I’m super food-motivated (hot dogs? Yes, please!), and I’m working on taking treats gently. I’m also pretty good on a leash! I pull if I see something super interesting, but also do very well tied next to the stroller or with my foster sister. I’d be happiest with a doggie friend since I’m so social, but if you take me out to meet other dogs, I could be your one and only too.
I'm great in the car and enjoy cleaning up the treats the kids drop on the floor, and am quickly learning commands to get in and out when my mommy says. So, what do you say—ready to adopt me?
