I'm ready for my new family!

Captain Kringle

I'm Available

Captain Kringle came to Church of Pug from a California shelter just in the nick of time. He arrived in very rough shape, but thanks to the generosity of our amazing supporters, he was able to receive lifesaving surgery to remove infected tissue left behind from previous eye removal surgery. Because of you, this brave little guy got the second chance he so deeply deserved.

Captain Kringle is blind, but don’t let that fool you—his superhero “Spidey senses” are strong! In less than two days, he confidently mapped out his foster home and fenced yard and now moves around like a pro. He’s proof that blind dogs don’t live in darkness—they live in trust.

He is still learning that the world can be a safe place. Captain Kringle does have fear-based behaviors and can bite when startled or when he feels restrained, such as during harnessing, being held, or wearing clothing. It’s clear someone failed him badly in the past. With patience, consistency, and respect for his boundaries, he continues to make steady progress each day.

What he does know for sure is love. Captain Kringle is a classic Velcro pug who wants to be near his people and soak up all the affection he can. He’s making big improvements with potty training and is happily gaining weight now that he understands food will always be there for him—no more scavenging required.

In foster care, Captain Kringle lives peacefully with a male Labrador Retriever, a female pug, three indoor cats, and even chickens. He enjoys car rides and is just beginning to discover that toys can actually be fun!

This little Christmas miracle would do best with a patient, experienced home that understands fear-based behaviors and is willing to continue helping him feel safe. He could thrive as an only dog or with calm, respectful fur siblings.

Captain Kringle’s only wish for the New Year is a forever family of his own. Could that be you?
