Hi! My name is Cool Whip, and I’m an adorable Pug mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I’m a happy, energetic girl who loves being part of everything my people do.
When I first arrived in foster care, I didn’t really know how to play—but I’ve got it down now! I enjoy fetch, tug‑of‑war, and chewing on my teething toys and yak chews. I may give you little love niblets once I know you’re my person, but don’t worry—if you say “ouch,” I stop right away. I like to do all these things near you or on you. Did I mention I’m a professional lap princess? I take my job very seriously and will follow you wherever you go.
I’ve also learned that I love car rides, especially to the beach! Running zoomies in the sand and barking at the waves is serious fun—you should try it! I’m told I’m seriously cute and very smart, and my parkour skills would be perfect for agility. I go by ChiChi in foster care and have great recall. I’m working on my manners with “sit,” “come,” and “stay.” I already know “down,” and my foster parents are helping me learn “leave it,” since I’m curious and sometimes want to chase squirrels, bunnies, deer, birds, and bees.
I do well with cats and other dogs, though I may need to be fed separately while I learn that my food is safe and won’t be taken away.
Lap time is my favorite! I’ll race to be the first one curled up when it’s time to relax. I snuggled quietly with my foster mom all day when she was sick, chewing my yak‑milk treat and keeping her company. I know when it’s time to chill.
I can be protective of my home and may bark or growl at new people at first, but once I know everything is safe, I settle down quickly. I don’t like strangers petting my head and will shy away, but I warm up with calm movements and a treat. I even spent a whole day with a one‑year‑old human and barely noticed him! With a little more socialization, I’ll be a confident girl. Oh—and the vacuum cleaner doesn’t scare me. I just walk around it and stay chill.
I’ll need a secure fenced yard because I love to explore and follow my nose wherever it leads. I know how to use a dog door, and accidents are rare these days. I enjoy company when I go potty and love getting a treat when I come back in (I’ll remind you if you forget—I did potty, after all!).
