Oh hello there! I’m Anderson Wallingford. My friends call me Wally but being the distinguished gentleman that I am, I like to make sure everyone knows my real name!
I’m a six-year-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel - Japanese Spitz mix. I came to Church of Pug after landing in a local shelter and I couldn’t handle the stress of the environment. All those dogs barking just stressed me out and completely overwhelmed me.
One of the reasons I think I haven’t been adopted yet is because people think I’m a lot bigger than I am. I’m barely over 20 pounds and the same size as many of my pug friends. I'm perfectly sized!
I am a very smart dog! I am practicing how to "sit", "stay", "come", "down" and "shake"! I am crate trained and like my naps in there. I am an affectionate boy who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home. I love to go for walks and play! I can be nervous when meeting new people and dogs at first but tend to calm down more when the people around me stay calm. I do best when I have lots of exercise and something to keep my mind busy.
Because of my shy nature, I would do best in a calm, quiet home with older or no small children. I do fine in my foster home with other dogs, but I can definitely get jealous and might grumble about it. I just like all of the attention. So, I would do great in a home without any other dogs or also a home that’s not afraid to correct me when I get grumbly and teach me it’s ok to share.
I’m working hard at potty trained. Don’t let my bellyband fool you it’s almost always dry now. Not familiar with a belly band- my foster would gladly tell you all about them! This might be a little TMI but I'm much better at #1 than #2. My foster thinks it's because I'm too nervous to poop on the leash.
